Happy Goats - Handmilked - Homemade
Hi, my name is Ruby, and Iβm the co-owner, creator, and hands that make all the products and care for all the critters here at Red Feather Farm along with my husband, Ray (heβs in the background making all the hay to feed said animals!)
I am a follower of Jesus, wife, mother, and homesteader. I live on my homestead in small town north central Ohio with my family where I raise show quality Alpine dairy goats. I hand milk my does, Raquel, Caycee, & Rori, twice a day and milk share with the kids, meaning the baby goats are not taken from their mother, but rather, I share with them and only milk the excess that my does make after the goat kids have their share. I have 2 new Alpine does, Avera & Craisin, that will be joining the milking team soon! We are also going to start showing Caycee and Avera at dairy shows.
Along with the Alpines, we raise Boer goats, chickens, sometimes turkeys, and we have 2 wild dogs, some barn cats, an elderly horse, and a grumpy donkey named Brad. We also have a herd of red angus cattle and a sassy Holstein heifer (future 2025 milk cow) named Sage.
I am a homesteader to my core. I grow, raise, and preserve almost everything we eat. I dabble in cheesemaking. Bread is my love language. And Iβm the crazy chicken and goat lady; Iβm a local goat mentor to many! Follow me on Instagram & Facebook for more of a glimpse of my day-to-day life on the homestead juggling life, homesteading, and motherhood.
My herdshare program is centered around happy goats & cows that are hand milked, food that is grown the healthiest way possible, and all my products are handmade. As providers of milk for both my family and yours, my goats happiness & health are of the utmost importance to me. I hand milk them as to not be reliant upon a machine and to keep them comfortable and happy. They are, quite literally, my best friends. I canβt describe the bond you have with your milk goats unless youβve actually experienced it for yourself!
I genuinely hope you love and enjoy our farm & homesteading as much as we do. Thank you for even looking at our website; it means the world to us.
